What type of dog bed should I buy?

Large and Extra Large dog beds are designed to support the weight of large breed dogs. Orthopedic beds have very thick medical-grade memory foam fill, which is designed to support the joints of older dogs or dogs with medical issues. Designer beds are luxuriously plush dog beds that have a variety of designer fabric choices. Cot-style beds provide a high and dry cool spot for your dog to sleep. Flat pads or crate mats are great for dog crates and for dogs that like to stretch out when they sleep. Nesting/snuggle beds are oval shaped and are similar to human beanbag chairs. Bolstered beds have padded sides and a center cushion filled with foam and/or recycled materials and are preferred by dogs that like the security of walls around them. Donut-shaped beds are donut-shaped bolster beds with removable center cushions. Waterproof beds are good for outdoor use and incontinent dogs.  Most are made with super tough tear resistant fabrics.  Heated beds function like human heating pads. They ease the aches of arthritic dogs and dogs that are recovering from an injury or surgery. Hypo-allergenic beds are made of organic materials that are less likely to irritate dogs that are allergic to materials typically used to make pet beds.
